Why, yes, this IS the scene that everyone and their mom is drawing!
Ms. Rowling just managed to redeem herself in my eyes. The last few books had me dragging along, losing interest and faith in the characters. And then Deathly Hallows happened. And everything was instantly better.
I feel an odd sense of completion in drawing this. I bought my first sketchbook so that I could try drawing characters from the Harry Potter books. Harry and company sort of inspired me to do more art in the first place, and now, at the end of the books, I can look back and see how far that first nudge got me. (i.e., my art is slightly less horrific now than it was then).

P.S. Snow? Of course there was snow in that scene! Shut up! It was totally implied.
P.P.S. You might have to click download to see this full-sized. I am belatedly realizing that when it's small everything looks like a giant smudge. It might look that way when it's big, too, but at least it will be a slightly less tiny smudge. Or something.

This scene gave me some really mixed feelings. On one hand, I felt really bad for Ron but on the other hand it's really sweet because it shows how much Ron loves Hermione and how scared he is to loose her.
